Like taking candy from a Baby [Sergeant Johnson, Sense-of-Accomplishment, Murdock, Omni, VOLT-Y666, Goodnight Loving CLOSED]

Omni sighed as he nodded, taking his place behind Vy as the Assaultron advanced. He had attempted tinkering with Vy's AI code through the years, trying to get rid of her reference of his person as "Master", but with the bugs and other quirks inherent in her code, he was loathe to do so. His last attempt at "fiddling" with Vy's AI lead to that unfortunate incident with the raiders they were supposed to be working with...

He shook his head as he focused on the task at hand, gripping his weapon tightly. The sound of raised voices could still be heard within, but Omni had no way of knowing if they were friend, or foe...

The sun bleached clothes of Goodnight flapped gently in the wind as he strolled around the perimeter singing an old pre-war tune to himself casually spinning his 9mm around his finger. As he rounded a corner he noticed the strange robed man and his robot sidekick and halted. He stared as the two entered the compound, flinching as the glass blew out from the brute of the Super Mutant's strength.
He cautiously followed the other two in, checking the worn flyer in his hand for the details and after nodding to himself set off in the shadows behind the other two; the tune on his lips had died down and the gun had lowered to a raised guard.

Well if anything, the lovely new visitors would be met with a floor wide blanket of roaches. Will they get swarmed? No idea, but its shocking nonetheless. Rick's still sat on the shipping container of sugar, looking out over the factory. He spots the robot and engineer, but not the ghoul.

"Eh? Hoi! Its dangerous, watch yourselves!"
The soldier steps to the edge of the container, looking at the now illuminated spot on the floor, clear of roaches. Those gears in his head began to turn. Hughes picks up a rusty pipe and hurls it at another blocked off window, hoping to break it

"Hey, start letting some light into this place! The bugs hate it!"

VY slowly makes her way through the entrance of the factory, her attention turned to the bizarre scene before now presented to both Omni and herself. The flood of radroaches and the desperate attempts by those already inside to smash the windows causes her to stop and quickly assess the situation before daring to move any further.

She immediately holds a cautionary hand to Omni, warning him not to come any closer as she draws her weapons up in front of herself in a defensive stance. No real attention is given to anyone but Omni as she begins taking paces backward, red light in her eye pulsing slowly as if to represent her attempts to mentally slow down the situation.

She puts no effort into trying to actively flee the factory, instead seeming like she is preparing for a possible fight. A single sentence is uttered to Omni as she keeps careful watch on the flood of overgrown insects swarming in the factory, "If those things get any closer, open fire. Let's not provoke them while they entertain their other guests, however."

Murdock is getting overwhelmed. between the noisy hissing roaches, and the newcomers that he doesn't know, there's a lot going on, and being trapped on this container isn't helping. he just wants to hit something.

he starts turning, looking at the walls. "need more light." the walls are shabby looking, rusted in spots, but they're still walls. but he finds a spot. something that looks weak. and he strikes.

Murdock activates his dashpack, doubling his damage, and strikes a week point in the wall. it will take 95+ to make a hole. +39 to melee.

The gigantic's Super-Mutant rocket backpack comes to life, spewing fire and smoke as it launches him forward with the speed and potency of a freight train. As if he were a spring he readies his genetically augmented muscles and several pistons of his Power-Fist tense and ready, blowing steam and shaking violently.

With every one of his steps he kills several radroaches, stomping on them and opening a clear way towards the metallic wall. The instant his punch links with the wall a massive blast of sound and vibration fills the entire area, violently shaking all of the structure. The hit hasn't been enough to break the wall but at least due to the great vibration enormous cracks gave formed on all of the unbroken windows. (-25 needed to break them)

Also, forgot to do this: 1d100 to see how many radroaches you killed while running towards the wall. You will get a kill for each multiple of 10 and 20 exp for each killed Radroach.

Rick stumbles as the building's foundations buckle under Murdock's charge. He manages to stay atop the shipping container, however unsteady he may be. The soldier looks up the walls at the now fractured windows, smiling slightly. begins climbing down onto the next shipment container over, hoping to grab some more debris to bust out the glass with.

"Nice job, Murdock! Now we just gotta get to clearing these little bastards out" He picks up a weighty metal bolt, hurling it at the window above him

"If we can clear a path to the breaker, I might be able to get the lights working again!"

Murdock feels better now. he turns as Hughes yells and nods. "Breaker box, get lights working."

he starts running towards the breaker box. if stepping on them worked earlier, as long as he kept running he should be fine. right?

as he ran, he grabbed a roach body and hurled it at the window that would illuminate the breaker box.

The bug splatters on the window that if broken, would have opened the path towards the breaker box and might have illuminated the entire area. Sadly the windows even if cracked were still pretty durable and instead of breaking the glass it was the radroach the one who broke down, in several gore filled pieces that covered the entire window with insect guts.

Luckily since there was way more natural sunlight most of the insects retreated to the underground areas of the factory. Weirdly enough there is still a small cluster of insects that no matter what won't stop buzzing and surrounding a particular machine and the three containers next to it.

Murdock picks up a roach and eats it. Ah, that's better. He looks up an hughes and says, "lights now. As the day goes on, light in here will shift. We need lights on."

And with that he runs over to the roaches that just won't leave and begins stomping on them like he's walking on a big metal hot plate.



Since they are focused on the containers, I'm going to assume their guard is down to me. I'm going to use  the same standard overseer used for my dash, I'll roll a d100 and however many multiples of ten is how many Murdock stomps.

Rick hops down from the shipping crate, making a mad dash to the breaker box and dodging any stray roaches along the way. Once at the box he looks the thing over, its completely rusted shut. Hughes pulls his prybar out from his bag and pops the breaker open, before grabbing his little set of tools and going to work. With only a few screwdrivers and spare parts, it's gonna take a miracle to get this old world wreck running at any capacity.

The fuses spark and fizzle, but no power goes through to the lights. Rick grits his teeth and throws one more shot at the repairs.

The thing comes to life but it isn't the main power switch no, it is something much worse. The containers that the roaches were buzzing on open and release their contents onto the machine; toffee, chocolate and sugar.

Without a second thought the roaches delve onto the guts of the machine, it seemed that the seal of the containers was good enough to keep these foods for more 250 years but not to keep their sweet sweet smell away from the little critters.

The giant machine buzzes and vibrates heavily as the sound of blades, gears and other machinery fills the entire room, and shortly after the screams of countless of insects, so loud that they even muffle the heavy noise of machinery. From the other end of the automation a conveyor belt reawakens from its long slumber. At first nothing comes out of it but soon several rectangular candy bars start to pop out from its insides. The first batch of candybars is good, made from only the real ingredients but soon the bars start to appear different, foul, nastier... on their endless gluttony the Radroaches entered into the machine and became cooked too, turning into part of the candy.

When the containers opened they released a sweet smell, a smell so good that it made the hiding radroaches come out of the basement to delve deep into the machine, completely ignoring the humans and all the others, jumping into their demise and becoming foul food.

Everybody on the place couldn't avoid looking at that grotesque show, it was like one of the violent whirlwinds that can appear on sea and devour entire ships, only much worse. The candy making machine seems to work flawless and endlessly and soon, the entire factory is almost completely empty of radroaches. Easy come, easy go.  

After some tense minutes everybody relaxed and shortly after a group of five Sons of Kanaloa Infantrymen entered on the area, guns ready. At first they seemed wary of the group that was inside but it wasn't until they saw the machine endlessly devouring radroaches and birthing candy that they lowered them, completely awestruck by what they were witnessing. When the gave the green light another person entered onto the area, it was a well dressed woman, a product of wealth, good diet and a life without struggles, a woman that exuded class, superiority and dominion over everybody who was in there.

"Is he still alive? What about his two guards?" Asked her with a slightly melodious yet threatening voice to her men.

"Kafka's alive, his two guards have been devoured by the roaches. It seems that the main machine has been contaminated by the critters as well, you can see it by yourself."

The woman walked and looked upon the machine, who was still creating more and more "candy", all what it had made so far was now piled upon the floor creating a small mound.

"You three, check on him and assure that he survives this. The moment he wakes up tell him that the payment for all these people and the compensation to the families of the two fallen guards will come from his salary and savings. You... eat one of these bars."

"M-miss?" Said one of the infantrymen, surprised by her order. No answer was needed, after a short yet tense silence the guard removed his helmet and proceeded to grab one of the sticky bars, then slowly ate it all, the woman then asked him for his opinion nonverbally, raising one of her eyebrows was all what he needed.

"Doesn't tastes all bad...it is kinda sweet and the machine's heat cooks the meat, besides its pretty filling."

"Then its settled, we will start selling them as protein bars, at first to our own workers, then if they prove to be popular to the rest of the Wasteland. Seems like there are still some roaches out there, capture the biggest ones and send them to our biology sector so they start breeding them."

After that the man nodded and fueled by incredible loyalty, put his helmet back on and went to the basement with his other companion to capture radroaches.

"And to you all... Thanks for your services, we knew that we might find some enemies in here, ghouls or raiders perhaps but never something like this. I don't need to explain my men that this needs to stay a secret, but perhaps I need to be blunt with wastelanders like you. Nobody has to know that the bars are made from Radroaches, I offer each one of you 350 caps for your silence."

She then opened her purse and from its interior grabbed a great bag full of caps. She gave each of you the money and then snapped his fingers.

"Now get out of here, this is Sons of Kanaloa territory now."

And with that the Infantrymen aimed their laser rifles at you all, forcefully shoving you onto the outside.  

Now the best part, the rewards: Rick and Murdock were the protagonists of this adventure, the rest came later and weren't able to do much, but nonetheless everybody will receive experience points, some insanity points for having seen the machine in action and the 350 caps.
