that's part of the challenge in design. so, darkest dungeon is a rogue like, you lose characters, or can, all the time. in my version, you make you character, crusader, vestal, leper, whatever, and that's your only character. you die and you lose all your gubs and start all over with a fresh character, kind of like this. but where as in the video game, you don't have any real attachment to your characters, because you have so many of them, in the table top, your character is you. much more tension around losing a character. but I still need to keep it challenging enough that it's as tough as the vg, but not so tough that it punishes players for playing. it's really tough.
